I’d often spend half a trip waiting for a table, tickets, an idea, anything with my nose buried in my phone while googling options, and missing the beauty unfolding all around me.
Because my “winging it” vacations were filled with so much wasted time, and wasted money.
Going from being go-with-the-flow to Type A was just one of the curveballs motherhood has thrown at me, but I’m so glad it did—because it set me on the path to founding The Designed Itinerary.
When I look back at the trips I took pre-personality shift, I now cringe.
I’m not your typical “travel planner”—because, well, I didn’t start out as a planner at all. I’ve always been more of a “we will figure it out when we get there” kind of girl.
Always one to embrace the unknown, always okay with just seeing how things will shake out. That is, until… I had kids.

As a wife, mother, and goal-oriented go-getter myself, I absolutely know what it’s like to feel busy to the bone. There are never enough hours in the day to dedicate to everything, and everyone you love.
Whether that’s meaningful time together as a family, a way overdue trip with your girlfriends, or a reconnecting escape with your spouse.
That’s where travel comes in.

NAPA, CA
To celebrate 10 years with my wonderful husband, I planned a luxury getaway including private tours of vineyards, eating at Michelin star restaurants, and relaxing at our five-star accommodations.
TURKS & CAICOS
We took a big group of friends and filled 5 days with activities such as snorkeling, horseback riding on the beach, and many nights of laughing (some while singing karaoke).
NASHVILLE
I brought together 13 girlfriends for an ah-mazing 40th birthday weekend, complete with spa time, line dancing, a private celebratory dinner and … a burlesque show. No one could remove their smiles for weeks after. Memories were most certainly made.
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO
We took five families—12 kids, 10 adults—and the biggest complaint was that the trip wasn't long enough. Days of skiing, nights around a large table playing games, soaks in natural springs, and snowmobiling through some of the most beautiful landscapes. A core memory trip all around.
Traveling with kids is stressful, but Jessica’s planning services made it effortless.
